Everything was spotlessly clean, nice location, close to Go-go harbour with convenient ferry transfer to Malta
Walking distance of the restaurants down the hill in Mgarr & access to public transport (buses), the room was clean and massive
fantastic location, friendly staff and very good service. Would recommend this hotel without hesitation. Been there three times and looking forward to another stay.
The hotel is situated within walking distance to every place we like, for example Ghajnsielem Parish Church. In love with Grand Gozo. Location not far from Antnin bus stop, only 10 minutes walk away. Really loved our stay here and would definitely go back:)))
The food was partly in the main restaurant, partly in the evening on the roof with a great view. However, it was sometimes quite windy there, so this was only possible twice. The staff - responsible for the restaurant - is simply fantastic! From the restaurant manager to the waiters (best regards to Boyan, this man is a dream!), Always trying to ask the guest if everything is OK. is and always responsible for good excursion tips and hotel advice, always friendly and cheerful, even with a lot of activity! Respect, stay as you are and keep it up !. The location above the harbor is great, the sightseeing bus also stops directly from the hotel, if you book at the reception desk, it is just as expensive. The discount will be deducted when you check out, too bad. For small snacks, the terrace in front of the hotel is recommended, but also the small snack car at the crossroads between the harbor and the hotel street. Very good hamburgers !. Bed was very comfortable, room facilities were good, but a bit dated.
The facility is partly in need of renovation. For example, all flower boxes on the terraces are empty or the beautiful dolphins by the pool are no longer in operation. Unfortunately, on 4 out of 5 days our room was only made between 4pm and 4.30pm. This is too late if you have done something and want to rest in the afternoon. You are constantly waiting for the cleaning lady, who you also need for towels etc. or is then torn from your recovery nap, which we found to be very disturbing. Our room was always pretty much the last thing done, no matter when we left the hotel and the green room sign hung out. Then to the beautiful pool. The water is much too cool, especially for older people who don't want to catch a cold in it. That's why it was hardly used, which should really be noticed. Otherwise only to mention that the nearby supermarket is closed and you have to walk for a few drinks to the neighboring town about 20 minutes. Go on the main street or through the pretty town.
staff very nice, service very good
bathroom needs upgrade.
Great prunes and bacon for breakfast. The pool area has a very nice view of the bay where the ferry docks. The restaurant has a friendly staff. In general, Gozo is a very beautiful and peaceful island... Who wants privacy, you are here)))))))))).
The standard number is 2 or 3 stars. Set for tea (electric kettle, tea, coffee, sugar) declared on the site, I never got. I had to ask for shower gel and shampoo. No hair conditioner and body cream. The room is dark and damp, the balcony can not open, because the terrible smell of burnt vegetable oil from the kitchen. Ruptured towels, burned mattress . At the reception, a Russian-speaking girl, to my indignation, responded very interestingly: "What do you want, this room is standard ! "A small swimming pool, the water smells like chlorine, if you need to go swimming by car or bus, then in the evening you can not swim and relax. Hair dryer in the bathroom, I do not know how to describe ! In general, the hair is not dry ! And also, a good tea or coffee for breakfast will not work. Pour some kind of balance on the kettles.
My room was with a shower, a plus for me. Super base for a city break in Ghajnsielem! Fuli Kiosk served dishes within 250 feet off the hotel. I loved the property.
We liked every thing about this hotel!
The superior room was large, clean and well appointed in a modern annex to the main hotel with a grand view of the ferry terminal and small boat harbour. The public rooms were small however and indicative of the hotels age although the terrace was a pleasant place to enjoy ones drink or snack providing the local boy motor cycle racers or heavy vehicle drivers did not pass by on the main road immediately outside. Internet was available for free for one hour daily. Breakfast was well organised and there was plenty of variety. The Hotel had an in house cinema and we were able to see a recent release on the evening of the Saturday we were there. The staff were friendly and helpful. Despite the problems described elsewhere we enjoyed the Hotel experience.
We did not use the pool as it looked very cloudy and perhaps contained too many chemicals. The sunbed mattresses were old and unkempt. There was only one very small lift and we had to take a long detour from the second floor to reach a further lift to our seventh floor annex room. On the day we checked out it took us twenty minutes to reach the reception area with our cases as the lift tended to service the rooms closer to the ground floor first and there was only room for two people and their luggage per lift journey. Please note this problem if you have a specific ferry to catch after checking out. ! One of our evening meals was awful with half frozen vegetables on offer. We complained but received a friendly but never the less annoying shrug of the shoulders.
We liked it all actually. No complaints. HUGE breakfast buffet. Very nice!
We had a large room overlooking the port. The hotel is very well connected and it is easy to get by bus and ferry anywhere in Gozo/Malta.
The hotel is a bit dated, but I don't know whether that was to be expected. The value for money was very good and the food tasted good and probably was of good quality.
Used the Grand as an overnight stop from Xlendi on Gozo, back to Malta. Great location on the hillside overlooking Mgarr harbour, which has a plentiful selection of good restaurants (see Lonely Planet guide). Nice enough hotel. Clean and comfortable, had a seaview room that was large and well-appointed with a small 'lounge' area and balcony overlooking the harbour. Good breakfast selection included in the room price. Didn't bother exploring the hotels spa facities or games rooms, too much to see on the island. A good base for exploring Victoria. Hotel includes underground parking (to be done with care, it's narrow and tiny and the battered columns show they've claimed many a bumper over the years).
Be warned - the hotel plays the worse musak over speakers in the restaurant at breakfast.
The Grand Hotel is very close to the Gozo Ferry, booking was very swift and easy. The room was comfortable to stay in, and offered a pleasant country view. The staff were very nice and I had no complaints whatsoever, but i did notice that the staff took importance and solved any encountered difficulties (which were small) that were encountered by other visitors. The Grand Hotel is a very nice and comfotable Hotel to stay.
My only complaint concerns only the underground parking, whilst stating that the provision of the parking space in itself was very good, i must say that the garage is not well lit and the garage's clear indication of either entry and/or exit do not clearly exist.
The luxury of the hotel made our stay very comfortable . The buffet breakfast was very good.
